trauma
You are more than your past.
Trauma
What happened to you matters—but it doesn’t have to define who you are.
Trauma leaves more than just memories—it can live in your body, shape your thoughts, disrupt sleep, affect relationships, and make it hard to feel safe in your own skin.
You might feel stuck in the past, overwhelmed by emotions, or disconnected from yourself and others.
But healing is possible. You don’t have to carry this alone.
Whether your trauma stems from childhood, relationships, medical experiences, or a single overwhelming event—your response is valid. And your healing doesn’t need to be re-traumatising.
In our work together, we’ll gently help you:
-
Regulate your nervous system and find safety in your body again
-
Release the survival patterns that no longer serve you
-
Shift out of hypervigilance, freeze, or shutdown states
-
Rebuild trust in yourself, your emotions, and the world
-
Discover strengths and resilience that trauma may have hidden
I combine psychotherapy, clinical hypnotherapy, and evidence-based trauma-informed techniques to support your healing at a pace that feels safe for you.

Avoidance
Avoidance is a protective strategy where you steer clear of certain thoughts, feelings, people, or situations that remind you of pain or trauma. This might look like avoiding emotions, numbing out, or keeping yourself excessively busy. While it can offer short-term relief, avoidance can keep you stuck in long-term patterns of anxiety or disconnection.

Dissociation
Dissociation is the mind’s way of protecting you from overwhelming thoughts, emotions, or memories. It can feel like zoning out, feeling disconnected from your body, emotions, or surroundings, or like you’re watching life from a distance. While it’s a survival strategy, it can make it hard to feel fully present, connected, or in control.

Hypervigilence
Hypervigilance is a heightened state of alertness where your nervous system is constantly scanning for danger—even when you’re safe. It can show up as jumpiness, racing thoughts, difficulty relaxing, or feeling constantly on edge. It’s a common response to trauma where your body learned that staying alert was necessary for survival.
